The Church and the Royal Court
The Precista Church was built in 1491 by Alexandru-Voda - the son and co-regent of Stefan cel Mare - who had established his residence in Bacau. The church, made of exposed brick, is typical of the series of royal foundations from this era. The house was repaired by the ruler Vasile Lupu (1641), who then dedicated it to his foundation in Iasi, the Monastery of the Three Hierarchs. The ruins of a royal palace (1481) in which Alexandru-Voda lived are also preserved inside the monastery.
