Brukenthal National Museum
We invite you to discover the first museum in the present territory of Romania, opened on February 25, 1817. In the Brukenthal Palace you will find both European painting galleries and galleries of Romanian art and decorative art. In addition, the Brukenthal Library houses approximately 280,000 volumes.
In addition to the Palace, the Brukenthal complex also contains the "Altemberger House" History Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Pharmacy Museum and the "August von Spiess" Hunting Museum.
Council Tower
since the 13th century since it was built, it has served as a grain depot, as an observation point for fires, as a temporary detention point or even as a museum of natural sciences in the mid-18th century.
The name of the Tower of Advice comes from the fact that it protected the premises where the city hall of Sibiu was at that time. Today the building has seven floors and is one of the main attractions of the city.
We do not recommend visiting it without the handy camera - from the upper floors you can take some beautiful pictures with panoramic views of the old city.
Astra Museum (Village Museum)
A visit to the Village Museum represents a journey in time and space where you will be able to admire traditional Romanian models of sheep or fishermen, hemp processing workshops, wooden churches and many other emblematic elements of Romanian culture.
Located 4 km from Sibiu in Dumbr?vii Forest and spread over an area of 96 ha, the museum is a true treasure of Romanian culture and identity. You will feel more proud than ever that you are Romanian.
